On Thursday we celebrated the effort and achievements of our students during the last academic year at our annual Prizegiving Evening. This event is one of the most important events in our school calendar and we are proud to acknowledge the hard work of all our students at this special event.
Year 7 and 8 STEAMies had a great time at the Science Museum this week as part of the annual Richie Lecture!
Our fourth annual Model United Nations simulation was held on the Thursday 1 December. A record 15 nations took part in the debate "To reach a comprehensive, long-term and proper solution to the global refugee crisis".
On Tuesday this week, we held our Jack Petchey Speak Out Assembly. Seven students competed in front of a formidable panel and the whole of Year 10 for the opportunity to represent Ashcroft at the regional finals of this competition.
Ashcroft Technology Academy’s STEAM Club, which has continued to grow from strength to strength, was thrilled to win Best STEM Club 2016 at the prestigious STEM Inspiration Awards at the House of Lords on Thursday, 24 November 2016. We were awarded first place out of a national cohort of 3,500 schools.
Two parents were nominated to this position. As there was capacity on the Board, both will take up a position forthwith. Steven Nash has four children at the Academy, two in Year 7, one in Year 8 and one in Year 10. Pat Edmondson has one child in Year 8. Both parents are very welcome additions to the Academy's Executive Board.
A level Physics students enjoyed a day of inspirational lectures at Imperial College this week.
The visit to the Neasden Hindu temple on Monday was a wonderful opportunity to visit a tranquil place of worship so said students Danish and Daniel in 7T1
